Fostering

There are many different areas that work together in animal rescue to help find loving, permanent homes for pets that have been abandoned. Fostering is one of those areas.

ARFNets believes that fostering is an important part of animal rescue. It allows for the assessment of the animal's personality, allows time for a little training, and allows the ability to check interaction with other animals and people while providing a safe, warm, loving environment until a permanent home is found.

Although it is hard work, it is necessary. The benefits and joy that come with saving the life of a pet that has otherwise gone unwanted can hardly be explained in words. If you have ever considered becoming a foster for an unwanted pet, read this:

"The Animals' Savior"
Copyright Jim Willis 1999

I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal.
And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible!"
Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly.
"I have done something," He replied.
"I created YOU."

There are a lot of unwanted pets in this area. We may not be able to take care of them all but we can still make a difference to many. If you would like to become a foster parent to a pet in need, please contact us at info@arfnets.org or fill out our online Foster Member Application.
